The Seller probably doesn't realize it but his asking price is the model number of the tractor he's selling.

It doesn't matter that he's 3 years out on the age. A complete and fairly straight Case 150 is worth $150.00 any day of the week, in my book.

Someone should jump all over this, haggle 'till the cows come home but end up with that wee gem in their trailer for the ride back to the workshop.

OK.. what did I miss?

If it was a 120, then it was an even bigger bargooon.
Can you please splain this a bit further?
Thanks in advance :trink:
I looked at it and concluded that it was a 150.

You looked at it and concluded that it's a 120.

As we know, same year, same basic tractor. 150 is Hy-driv, 120 is Peerless gearbox.

I just blew up the photo. I cannot make out a shifter but the trans-axle does look like it could be a Peerless. What are you going on to conclude that it's 120, Gregg?

If it is a 120, then from a collector perspective, it's a sweet find because there weren't all that many of them made. At least, that's what the consensus of opinion seems to be.

The hood has had a large chunk cut out of it. It appears that a foreign gas tank as been installed there. Presumably because the original steel tank rusted out. Where the air cleaner has gone is a good question. The hood wasn't a big deal nor is the tank.

Tom, Sorry for the confusion. I also believed it was a 150. It knew only that it was a 120 after getting an email from the person that listed the tractor for the owner. I finally spoke to the owner and purchased that tractor.

The fuel tank that you see in the photo is actually a peace of material laying over the engine, and covering the air cleaner :headscratcher:
The hood however, is another story  Tractor does not run at this time. Not sure what else the ole girl will need but I am ok with that

Gregg,
No problem on the confusion. That photo was poor. Easy mistake, especially when 120's don't show up all that often. Glad to hear you got it instead of some $%#@%%^$ guy who would part it out or try to use it for a puller.

The hood is available from Steve Guider for a very reasonable price.

I was wondering what you meant when you said even better if it was a 120? Less made than the 150??

Sorry Al...

With 400 members joining in just 3 weeks time, I've got Nutcases and CaseNuts coming out my wahoo. Hard to keep track.

Yes... the current belief is that there were far fewer 120's made than 150 and 190's in 1966. Most people bought into the hydraulic drive system in order to get away from the manual tranny and clutch. For the longest time, collectors sorta ignored the 120 because it is a manual trans but now several have concluded that their collection isn't complete without one.

My buddy Caseman2 is on the hunt for one that is not too far from him because he has every other one but the 120.

Ohh what the hell!!!!!! That tractor is 15 minutes from my house and I would have picked it up had I seen that ad sooner.

Edit: I just found an ad for it. I emailed the seller. My wife is going to put me in the shed
