I believe he said it had a tapered end Mike. So what crank would work on this motor?mikebramel said:If it has a tapered shaft it would be easiest to swap cranks. You can get L099 coupler, keyed or splined up to 1 1/4"
Do you mean to shy away from the Onan 20hp Boomer? He said something about if he sold it he would have to get $500 out of it.boomers_influence said:mark
the p could be a problem for your 76.
if your exh. pipes screw into the block
you would have to pur.a later model set of exh. pipes, that bolt to the block.
other problems
fuel pump pulse port location
breather location, remove it and plug the hole, and install your breather in # 1 tappet cover
air cleaner to wide, install your carb and air cleaner.
so, in my opinion you may want to shy away unless you get a really good deal.
good luck. boomer
I have an opportunity to pick up a couple of generators. But, I haven't located a source for the adapters mentioned.Hydriv said:The transplant isn't much of an issue. The engine will bolt right up to the frame along with the pump and clutch once you sort out the crankshaft issue. There are adapters to convert a tapered shaft to a straight shaft.
