I used the little tractor today for about 1 hour and then the starter gen fried. Could very well have been my fault, but either way it is shot. The engine performed beautifully. No lugging in way too tall grass and cut as smooth as my 446. I will be spending the next few free hours swapping over the stater and electronics from my K301 to the newly installed K321. First glance says it should all swap over fairly easy. Just have to get down to the flywheel and do all the dirty work. Looks as though lately working on tractors IS my hobby. Oh well I dont drink so this takes place of the time I used to spend in the bars :trink: Wish me luck.

Don't tell your wife you broke something again!!! :gums: :wife: :wife:
She was there and watched me push it back to the garage. All she had to say was "you don't seem too upset". Just one of those things. I at least have all the parts on hand to fix it. No money out of pocket except maybe a few new electrical connectors.

Note to self. When taking engines apart, make absolutely sure the gasket you need is readily available. I started to swap electronics on the 12-14 swap, and the gasket for the bearing plate behind the flywheel must be changed. None available to complete the job. Will be here tuesday. Now the little tractor that could, can't until parts show up.

Got the little beast back together finally. I have been working on my garden shed. It has been 15 years since I built it and it was time to fix some problems with it. Rain was ceasing the shed work, so I tackled the tractor and I am happy to report the electrical swap was a great success.
