hi, my uncles one 444 parts tractor has demo on the fenders, the hood is gone, the ser.# 9711377, shows it's a 75. what yrs. did they make demo's? were there different decals for different years. is there anything showing the different special models and when they were made? thanks, wayne.

Yes..... Case did produce Demonstrator models in 1975. The Demo program started in 1971 and ended in 1976. Your Uncle's 444 is known as a "Golden Demonstrator". It is definitely worth conducting a full ground-up restoration to it. You need a "donor tractor" so that you can obtain a correct hood and fenders for the restoration. Preserving the current set of fenders just as they are, is the only way you can prove that this tractor left the factory as a true Demo model. If you don't preserve the fenders, then the value of the tractor will suffer dramatically because Buyers will conclude that you have a FAKE.

No record exists (to anyone's knowledge, so far) that pinpoints which PIN left the factory as a Demo and which did not. No one knows how many Demo's were made or how many models were turned into Demo's. Just the same, you should restore what is left of the current tractor and then rob parts from a donor tractor to complete it.
