Very cool. My 4020 with a 24hp Honda GX670 is a great combo.

Seeing as the loaders offered a 20hp Honda (in some of the 6020s) are you planning on trying to source some OEM engine mounts and pump mounts?

I will be fabricating my own engine mounts and pump bracket. My GT is a 646 so the engine will be facing forward opposite of yours. ✌. Harry

A little fab work is always a good time. I'm looking forward to seeing how things come together!

With the GX670 24 HP you should have power to spare. Did you use the stock Case hydro pump? ✌. Harry

Yeah the engine definitely does great with my regeared SB48 or my RM60 deck.

It still has the stock pump unfortunately. I was looking into a 41XX pump but the 4020 has very little space for the hydraulic pump with the cooler and the filter located in the tower.

A front mounted cooler like the 41XX series tractors have would have been ideal, but the Honda's muffler was in the way.

A friend dropped off a lovejoy coupler that fit the engine and hydro pump. Installed it last night now ready to fabricate an engine adapter plate. ✌ Harry

Man you have some cool friends. Friends with "stock" are the best. I often trade a small shop job in trade for a "dumpster dive" at a neighbors.

Dundee, I have a group of retired tradesmen that help each other out. Sometimes libations, parts, work or trade. The good old boys. ✌. Harry

I carefully lowered the Honda engine in the 646 yesterday. Then connected the hydro line to the pump. Appears to be plenty of room for oil tank in front and battery in the rear. I then took some measurements and cut 1/4” plate for the engine mount. I still have a few things to figure out yet, but optimistic. 👍 Harry

I started to fit all the components into place. Some have to be changed and some creative fabrication to make it all come together. I’m sure others who have been there understand. Take some measurements make a cardboard template check the fit. Make the piece out if metal recheck the fit. I like to weld nuts behind places to make assembly and disassembly easier. So tack weld nut in place, let it cool down then run a tap through nut to chase off the threads. Time consuming activities but well worth the effort. It is coming together nicely, I just have to complete the hydraulic connections and the exhaust. ✌ Harry

Can't wait to see the MASTER'S exhaust header and muffler design! I would expect it will involve TIGing the pieces together [that factory "T" connection of the 2nd cylinder SUCKS for flow], followed by sending it out for ceramic plating.

I finished the exhaust today. A lot of cutting, fitting and welding were required. I started with some exhaust parts from old GT’s. Cutting them apart and fitting them together piece by piece by tack welding with a MIG welder. After completion I TIG welded the manifold together and added a flanged section to make it easier to assemble. I painted it today with black high heat header paint. Tomorrow I’m going to wrap it with titanium header wrap. ✌. Harry

Nice work! I like how the black paint looks. Any concerns about the muffler getting smashed up underneath the tractor? It's definitely a pretty tight space with the exhaust facing towards the battery like that, I can understand how packaging would be challenging.

With the large rear tires there is at least eight inches of clearance between muffler and floor. I’m not expecting any problems on my flat property. I’m going to make a heat shield between the exhaust and the battery. ✌. Harry

It rained this afternoon so spent the afternoon in the shop. Wrapped and installed the exhaust system. ✌ Harry
