I ordered a new push rod today. I was told my new points don't work because the aluminum push rods Kohler used for a while wore out. Anyone know about this?

I can't say that I recall that issue but it seems perfectly reasonable.

Perhaps you could give us a measurement on the new one when you get it.

I'll try to measure both and post the findings. Just have to bring a calipers home from work.

I have found the new replacement rod is shorter than the origional aluminum rod. So it will not do me any good. Guess I will need to buy a new set of points that is not defective.

Old aluminum rod = .1845 dia 1.5445 long.
New metal rod = .1845 dia 1.5325 long.
