Dan, welcome to the forum.
I take that as a compliment, thank you for noticing. :trink: Funny how evry time there is one of those pile-ups, it's usually me that ends up bleeding. :lol:ING6018 said:Drew - I have enjoyed your posts on other forums. You have a special gift for turning a smooth running thread into a 50-GT tractor pile-up. But, it sure makes for some interesting reading. Keep at it.
In truth, there is very little to fear from me. You do not see Moderator under my screen name. That job has been delegated to my partner Jack and Brad. They are here to keep me in line just like anyone else. We want everyone to have a good time here but most of all we want them to learn how to better care for their tractors and keep them alive. So please, relax and get on with posting in the forums.ING6018 said:Snot- Thanks for stepping out and starting your forum. I know it was a lot of work, and you must have had been conflicted about shutting down. With the pedigree assembled here, I think you made the right decision. A Win-Win for everyone.
Bob M. - I appreciate your work on the other forums. You provide solid advice and are the genteel counterpoint to Tom's occasionally acerbic persona.
Tom - I would think by now you must be really pleased at the response and group of guys showing up here. It says a lot about the need, timing, and drivers behind this site.
All jesting aside for the moment, I am thrilled beyond words at the support that I have received from everyone here, save and except one recent member. You are absolutely right about the timing issue. I also believe that I made the right decision when I partnered with Jack initially and then brought Charles into the fold. Each of us bring own own strengths to the site and what you see is the result of that combination. It has been my belief for some time that the other forums were just not delivering what was needed. I had my own vision and got the help I needed to bring it to reality.

Galen - I am up in Conroe, TX. I was concerned about you last year when you were negotiating with Bart and other foreigners about going up north to pick up some attachments. I was fearful you might wake up in the bathtub at a cheap motel missing your tractors, and a kidney. Glad you made it back safe.
New Guys - If you are new to Colt/Case/Ingersoll tractors, then you have found the right place. Look around, do some research, and learn. Make sure you get to know the personalities. There are some really bright guys here. You are also blessed with dealers like Brian Hildreth (bhildret). Brian, like the rest of us, is trying to make a living in a tough economy. But he is also passionate about the machines and quick to suggest cost effective options (even if it means losing business). Get to know him, and patronize his business when you can. He is one of the good guys.
You may see comments about this Tom guy and think he is some kind of Ogre. It's all in fun. I think. Although, I heard W.C. Fields once described Tom as "a personality as fragrant as a bouquet of @ss holes." I'm sure he meant that in the nicest possible way.
To the Old Timers- you do realize we have all been caught up in a diabolical scheme. In the past, Mr. Tom was in a position where HE could be banned from a site. Now, he can ban US. ANY of US. All of US. At the same time. With one click of a mouse. Now he has the attitude and his finger on the DELETE button. Where will it all end?
Be afwaid, be vewy, vewy afwaid.
