I started a thread called "Important: Please read this message." and I pinned it permanently to the top of this forum board.

So far, it has received a mere 85 hits and Jim has received less than 10 inquiries. WHY IS THAT? We have 431 members who have joined in the past 30 days.

OK... I know that it's the dead of winter and many of you guys have stored your tractor/s away for the winter. And for some of you, it's just too damn cold to be out there getting hard to read numbers of the engine tag and the tractor ID plate right now. This much, I do understand.

However, warmer weather is on its way in 60 days.
At the moment, you are quite comfortable in front of your computer. So what's stopping you from sending Jim a PM or an e-Mail or phoning him? Get the number of forms you need so you have them. As soon as it warms up a bit, fill out those forms and get them into Jim's hands ASAP so YOU can be on Jim's Registry along with your tractor/s.

Every tractor added to the Registry helps develop a better understanding of what Colt, Case and Ingersoll have done since 1962. The better we understand the tractors, the better we can help others with their problems. So PLEASE, take a moment, read that thread, contact Jim and help out with a bit of info.

Thanks,

Tom

I guess one question is what is the distribution of this list, is it being shared with those who supply information or is it only for a few? Reason being, I sent info in once before and never heard back. So honestly I am hesitant to update things.

I'm going to let Jim answer your question because it is not my place to respond on the "distribution" issue.

However, the purpose of the Registry is to gather the most complete amount of data in the hopes that the Registry will fill in some blanks about our favorite brands of tractors.

Sometimes..............in this world, you just have to be prepared to place your trust in the motives behind the Registry and just leave it at that. If you pass by a street beggar and toss a buck in his hat, you don't get to tell him what he can or cannot spend that buck on.

In this instance, no one has to expend any money. All Jim is asking for as a bit of your time in carefully recording some information from your tractor/s and then send it to him. How hard is that?

Tom,

I can't find the post in question so that's probably the answer to why the responses haven't been overwhelming. Still trying to understand the navigation here, like Brian I usually just look at new posts.

The thread is located at the very top of the main forum (Case, Colt, Ingersoll).

Since the response has been so underwhelming, I decided to put this thread into the mainstream of activity to bring greater attention to Jim's Registry.

Thanks for your post on the issue.

I know several people that have tryed to get a copy, even offering to pay for it , and have been flatly denied, myself included. So can you tell me again who this registry is to benifit? It is my understanding that the registry was started to help the collectors and Old Abes News suscribers keep up with production numbers, but even this is not as it was originally intended. I have never seen this list published on the internet to be used by others, Jim do you want to share this list with us? have one you would like to share?
NONE of my newly acquired tractors will be addedto this so called registry that benefits no one but the person putting it together.

I do have a copy that he gave to me a few years back when I went to his place for some parts, but it would have to be updated, I will give him an update on my acquisitions but it probably won't be until spring.
