Thanks everyone. Good ideas and good advice.

I was thinking that I could detach the blade at the pivot hole. Then mount a ball there. It would have to be higher though. But it could be raised, and it could be seen from the driver's seat by standing up. Would make it a little easier to maneuver the tractor into place.

The problem with going the mule mount route is that you'll have to remove your deck any time you want to use the front ball hitch, because most Case/Ingersolls have to use a mule bracket to mount the deck to the tractor.

So for front hitches, I prefer the one Bob McGregor posted that's actually bolted to the frame independent of the mule bracket.

For what it's worth.

Absolutely correct the weight mule I posted is on a 3012, I bought as a bare tractor. Attachments for them are somewhat rare here and bring a premium $$$ above what I am willing to shell out. So the 3012 has a easy life as a yard tug pulling the estate rake and trailer. And the weights aren't really needed, but I have them so whynot ;)

Cheers,
Gordy

Good point. I don't mow with mine so hooking attachments to the mule is not an issue for me.

Just bought a 448. It occurred to me that I can use the trailer to move around my Scamp fiberglass travel trailer (weight is 1000 pounds).

I would like to mount a ball on the front somehow. Any tips? I went looking here and did not find anything.

Could I remove the blade from my plow and put the ball on the frame somehow? That way I could raise and lower it into place.
1983. My father's work with bumpers on frt and rear with a ball hitch. Solidly fastened. You maybe could pivot using this support method to the lift.

If you're ok with the limited lift capacity of the plow system i would just build a receiver onto the top of the plow blade.

Such as this beauty here. :ROFLMAO:

It wouldn't be hard to increase the lift capacity of the plow by building a dedicated lift cylinder onto it, or relocating the midlift cylinder to serve as such if you never intended to run a mower deck anyway. Im actually planning to add the midlift cylinder to the 3pt on my Case..

But by the same token once you go to much effort for the front of the tractor you probably should have just built a rear lift. I agree with those who said that.
