Hi, new to this forum,

I recently acquired a case 446 with the engine in a box. Engine # BF MS/2434B, serial # 0873682124. Block in good shape crank may have to be turned, will be able to tell more when it is out of the block. My main problem is one of the pistons has a broken skirt. i have read that 3 1/8 pistons are not available. the casting number is 112 123. Will a 112 134 piston fit or does someone know where I might be able to score a 112 123 piston. I am sure many where thrown away when engines were rebuilt. I really don't want to bore the block to 3 1/4 to keep using it. By the time I have that muach tied up in machining I might as well repower with a new engine.

thanks Loren

Bore job and the pistons will cost you about $350
Not sure which crank journals need to be ground but that shouldnt be more than another $100
Reface the valves/cut the seats $100
Gasket set $100
Rods $160

Mains???

New comparable engines start at $1200 plus fabrication time, exhaust, etc
