Well I was taking a rocker panel back to NAPA this morning, and low and behold.............WHOA !..........I see a Case 446 sitting on a guys front lawn. Now it turns out that it wasn't for sale,....so why am I telling you this?
I travel this same route a couple times a week, and have for 20 - 30 years, and I have never seen this tractor before. The old guy that lives there is in his mid to late 70's,and has lived there for 50 years.
Anyway,I stopped and went in and the guy came out,and we got to talking about the tractor. He tells me that he bought the tractor new,and it has rear 3pt hitch, and rear PTO. He also has a deck for it,a rototiller,a front blade, and I think he said he has or had a snowblower for it.
Now this tractor is very rough/beat up,and has always been kept out side.He says he has no plans to sell it because he still uses it all the time.
It is funny that I have never laid eyes on it,and it has been there since the mid 70's.It just goes to show you (me),that there is still hope for me to find one here.

Maynard,
Type out and print your contact information on a sheet of paper. Go back to his house and give it to him. Tell him that you are not trying to pressure him into selling but if something happens that changes his need for this tractor, then you would like him to call you first.

After all, his health could change overnight just by having a stroke. I'm not trying to push this man into his grave but let's be realistic here. None of us know what tomorrow will bring, including you and I. That's a package that YOU don't want to let slip away. You might want to mention that you are pretty good with a big hammer when it comes to repairing old GT's and offer to help him out if his Case has a problem.

Tom,
That is a good idea, and just what I am going to do.I don't know why I didn't think of that,or maybe it was because he wasn't going to sell it.
