RARE 1965? Case/Colt Garden Tractor BARN FRESH These tractors are hard to find in operating condition this one is running but needs work .It is powered by an 18 hp briggs twin runs with the choke pulled so it will need a carb rebuild it moves foward and reverse (it is hydrostatic) the 2 speed seems to be disconected I don`t know why rear tires are dry rotted and checked but hold air. fronts are good. this would make a good restoration project I do not have the time it also needs a battery (battery not included in sale) I have described this as best I can you are welcome to come and look before you bid . I will not ship local pick up only. I reserve the right to end aution early Im selling local also. sold as is Good Luck

Buy it now at $1500? Wow! Seems pretty outrageous! :headscratcher: Am I missing something? Wrong engine, seller states needs carburetor rebuild, tires are rotted, battery not even included. What does he mean by the 2 speed not being connected?
Pluses, nice looking GT, sheet metal looks good, wheel weights.
Oh and its hydrostatic!!!! :sidelaugh: :sidelaugh: :sidelaugh:
Sorry, I think I'm angry that its close (see one a year maybe around here), yet apparently to be way overpriced and has wrong engine.
This is the model that got me interested in CCI tractors.

I don't see that tractor as particularly pristine. The hood has been cutout to clear the wrong engine. The battery is mounted on the rear which means that wiring and battery compartment are messed up. The front PTO is likely missing entirely since it has been repowered with a Briggs. Whatever one pays for it I can see dropping at least $1000 to get it back close to original.

I agree with Bart but the problem is this. Of all the STANDARD issue models made by CASE, the 180 is rapidly becoming the hardest to find. Personally, from a collector's POV, I would not WANT to pay more than $200.00 for this one because of all the issues mentioned by Bart. Realistically speaking, I know that it will bring much more than that in this auction.

Whomever buys it will have his work cut out for him. He will likely have to find a 130 as a donor tractor to solve the missing parts problem and the trans-axle problem. In other words, a 130 will have to give up its life so that a 180 will live. Not what I call a great choice. It's a shame that this one got butchered so badly but this happens all the time.

When I tell people that re-powering a tractor devalues it considerably, they don't understand. Well. here's what happens when that re-powered tractor gets to this stage. In the past six months, I have seen two 180's sell for more than 2 grand on e-Bay in an un-restored state. But they were not re-powered and they were complete and untouched.
