I know that some years of 444 had the holding valve built into the hydraulic valve and some had a kit available. How can you tell if the hydraulic valve has it built in or not ? Reason being I found a guy that has a valve off a 444 but he is not sure of the year ?

I think there is a photo comparison of the two valves somewhere on this site but the main difference is that the area where the travel motor lines are connected to the valve is raised noticeably(1/2 inch or more) from the standard valves.

Bart I just went into the FAQ section of the site and opened the PDF that pertains to the question at hand here and there is no photos currently inserted into the file. I will look into this and get it fix asap. To the original poster, please head over to the FAQ section and familiarize yourself with all the content we have put there. Almost all of your questions you will ever ask can be answered by reading the information on this site.

Oh and BTW, welcome to the site.

I know the exact picture Bart is talking about as Tom has posted it a bunch of times. When he see's this I'm sure he'll add it to that PDF.
You must have me confused with someone who is a part-time computer geek.

Oh....wait a minute.... isn't that your title in this partnership? :sidelaugh: :sidelaugh: :sidelaugh:
