I had halogen light bulbs in all 4 lights which was a high amperage draw, so I wired them thru an on-on switch mounted in the panel so I could select the head lights or the fender lights but not both.
These lights may be available with LED flood bulbs. They were soft plastic housings so they would move when bumped. I had planned to move them a couple inches to the rear as I was bumping them getting on and off the tractor. I did a lot of night time snow removal with this tractor when I had a lot of customers.

Switch on the panel that selected either sets of lighting. The key switch lights position powered this switch. View attachment 128809
Nice 👍. I would kinda like to make a box like thing on the front of the fender and put a light like this in there

Only problem is that I would prolly bump into it a lot gettin on and iff the tractor

Ever consider a head lamp? (literally the ones that strap to your head) They make some pretty bright ones and they are always pointed where your eyes are pointed. :) I use one in addition to my LED headlights. Mine has become my go to "flashlight" whenever I work on anything as well.

Location, Location, Location. The closer the lights are to the front the better, IMHO. The further back you go, the more you are going to create shadows from the tractor itself.

I agree with Bob that lights mounted on the the front of the fender may be in the way for getting in and out of the seat. They would be for me...

What about mounted on the sides of the hood? (watch that exhaust)

How about making a U shaped bracket (using small angle or square tube) that attaches to the frame and comes up the sides of the hood to whatever height you want?

Good luck and send pictures.

Neither of those are bad ideas. It may just be me but i think it would be cool to have them on the front of the fenders cause it looks more like a tractor. I dont know. Thanks

Fender mounts will provide the best view of the tops of your thighs...:) . For these tractors the width to length ratio is pretty small so you more shadowing as @k0jdd said.

I found that the rear fender mounted lights were very helpful when plowing snow after dark at customers places that I wasn't familiar with although I mowed their lawns. I had them angled outward slightly and as they were flood lights I had a wide bright view. I also used my 4018 with an SB48 with just the hood lights with halogen light bulbs in them, much brighter out front. I may have pics of the 448 with these lights on, I'll look thru my pics., couldn't find any.

What about replacing the factory headlight housings with multi-bulb LED versions? You can get them for about $25, and they're... 6X brighter? maybe 10x brighter than the stock headlights?

And no extra structure to get bent/broken.
