Maybe dumb question do I have to remove rear wheel to take gas tank off? I've got fender off still can't take bracket off that appears to hold it on. I don't take trans axle bolts out to remove rear bracket do I. Looks like it would be able to pull out if I did, but dont won't trans axle to fall down causing me more problems . Thanks in advance.

The two front-most bolts on the fenders do go through the fenders, through the axle cover plate, and into the transaxle. Those will need to be removed, there's a handful of other bolts holding the frame to the axle though so it won't go anywhere. You'll need to seal the thread on those bolts when you reinstall them though I think.

I got it off but I did not reseal threads. Do you think I should. Do I use locktite or what you suggest?
I just used pipe dope for something like SCH40 pipe, looked like what was already on the bolts. I believe the hole opens up into the body of the transaxle and the only thing keeping water and junk from getting in is the bolt. Wouldn't hurt either way but I definitely wouldn't use Loctite on a cast part just to be safe.
