I am new to the Case/Colt tractors and have been looking for one to restore. I currently am restoring a JD 300 and last winter finished a JD 140. I have a few other JD's and two Wheel Horse 551 projects. If anyone can steer me toward a mid to late 60's tan/orange tractor to restore, I would appreciate the help.

Is there anyone else from Iowa on here?

I have had a hard time finding any Case tractors in Iowa

Well Leonard you sure came to the right place. It is nice to hear that you have finally come to your senses and abandoned those green tractors.

I am sure a tractor or two will show up. There are shippers that go through Iowa all the time and could help you out.

Take a look around. Make yourself at home. Learn as much as you can about what is available. Ask all the questions you care to. I guarantee someone here will have the answer.

welcome to the forum . the best advice for looking for a case is patience then be ready to pounce quickly. there are deals and there are some that are overpriced. good luck

Welcome to the board, I'm your neighbor to the west. I only know of seven tractors here in Nebraska, and I own three of them ( I had to import one of them from South Dakota). :grin:

I'm sure there a lot more of them out there, I just haven't found them yet.

What part of Iowa are you in, if you're not to far away I'll let you know if I run across anything.

What some of us have to do in order to get what we want is to look out of state and then have a private shipper bring it to us. It can be done.

Leonard: Welcome to the group, we're glad you joined! :usa: We have a Restorations Forum here, as well as a comprehensive Technical Library and many other fine features. I am out on Long Island, NY and the CCI GTs are pretty scarce. Many of us do a little traveling to purchase our tractors. One of our leaders, Jack, posts tractors for sale on a regular basis for the group. No doubt members will also keep an eye out for you. Please feel at home here, this is a great group with friendly and knowledgeable people.

Thank you for the welcome! I live in Ankeny, Iowa which is just 5 miles north of Des Moines. I have a 195 located in Southern Minnesota so that will be my first when I can get up there to pick it up. If you guys need anything checked out in Iowa, please let me know. I will do my best to help you out.
