Um, I just bought a 3.5 acres and needed a helper. Snagged a 1979 444 freshly painted w/44" mower deck. GREAT shape except  ........................ engine turns and stars well but, had to send to machine shop(cyl. bore, crank turn, valve guides, and new piston rings and rod) I haven't got it back yet. So I'm really looking forward to using it to mow and hopefully get attachments to maintain gravel drive. Oh yea. Hello everyone.

Welcome to the Group, DCD!

With proper routine maintenance after the machine shop work, your 444 Case should last you another 30 + years... Be sure to flush the oil found in the hydraulic system and transaxle with some fresh Rotella if you just acquired the machine to keep it running in top shape, and you should be good to go.

Glad to have you here!

Jason
