I rebuilt my clutch a couple of weeks ago and some how lost my hood pin (rod) that holds the hood on. I have a 77 case 444. (Yea I know) I kept all my parts in one place and can't find it. I did have some help from one of my boys when I was taking it apart..I am beginning to think they laid it on the back of the quad and it fell off somewhere in the woods. Can someone tell me what the diameter of the rod is...or were I can get one. I can always get the right diameter of a rod and then drill a hole in it. Thanks

5/16 rod a little hard work best.

I replaced mine with 5/16" threaded rod and attached to small nuts on either end.
It makes for easy removal and seems to rattle less.

DO,NOT use threaded rod.
it will have less contact area. (because of the threads)
the threads will cut into the tubes. (vibration)
i use a 5/16 stainless rod. 9 1/2 " long.

Brad, dont forget to drill a hole in the middle of the rod so that it can be secured with a roll pin. That is how the rod is secured on my 86. If you cant find the rod then let me know and I will make you one here and put the hole in it for you. Just pay the shipping and its yours.
