An old friend stopped by the house yesterday who repairs old lawn mowers and most anything that has a small engine on it. I was showing him my Case 600 series tractors and he says I have a old Case tractor with an Onan in it. Not thinking I was interested in purchasing it, I asked him if the engine ran. It did when I brought it home but it's been setting awhile. I asked him if it had the big tires on the rear or the smaller ones. He said the smaller ones so I figured it was a 200 series tractor. Then he tells me he removed the engine because he was going to sell it. I asked him what happened to the tractor and he tells me it is scrap. One persons junk is another persons treasure. I asked him what does he want for the engine and he says $200.
I certainly do not need another machine setting around and my wife certainly does not want another tractor setting around. My love for these machines certainly has grown since I have been working on them in the last few years. So the next time I get by his place which is not that far from mine, I'm going to stop and see this Case tractor and see exactly what he has. The wheels in my head are spinning and I'll see if they get traction or not.
