Any more I have the attitude it's not worth it unless there is a challange of fixing a prior owner's repair mistakes.
I'm a sucker for such, picked up a early 90's Sears Craftsman rider last night for $50 because it had a 18hp Kohler (vertical not horizonal) , key switch is bad but with fiddling with it for 20 minutes, the engine runs (even with old gas in the tank). had to evict a few mice that made a nest next to the flywheel.
