Joining is easy. Doing it properly is humanly possible. Last time I checked, I could see my reflection in a mirror - that is if I remember to turn the light on first. I joined in May, 2011 and all but forgot to follow procedure. Better late than never, hopefully.
We (I) picked up an '85 Ingersoll 448 with Factory cab and 48 in. Snowcaster with 1427 hours on the Odom. The promised deck and wheel weights never showed up. So much for the local unofficial Case dealer. My fault for reasons I will not go into. A local Case guy sold me a nice N46 deck. Thanks Bill W. I found a Johnson model 12 (?) loader on CL. Thanks Dave B. The tractor was meant to augment the family IH CC 149 and the loader to make my existence simpler. Still working on ALL OF THAT ! :chopwood:
When I can slow down enough, I can see (sometimes) how the rest of the world operates.
THIS WEBSITE IS A GODSEND. THANK YOU ONE AND ALL. Especially the moderators: Hydriv, Snotrocket and mjodrey(spelling?) <<<<<< Thank You for making me laugh. More thanks to follow as I go thru every last page.
I recognize names from elsewhere on the internet who are members of CCI. It is my hope that I only embarrass myself.
Desperation and good fortune rarely coexist. CCI is good fortune. Many thanks.
As I get to the repairs and upgrades on the 448, I will post pictures if my solutions to "existing" problems may benefit someone. I am working on beefing up the front axle pivot and front axle spindles as well as steering components to handle the chores of loader duty before I make the subframe to mount the loader. I am building Rome as the stones come to me. The 448 is used daily. ( I apologize for the big picture thinking. )
A hyperactive mind can never be simple and to the point. I will get on now.

Please don't ban me. A smack upside the head does less brain damage. Chose your implements wisely - the bigger the better.

The ADHD guy, mister friendly (mother's idea of an ironic nickname :headscratcher: < don't love me because I'm ugly "mine" <I have T-shirts :sidelaugh: ,)

That's good to hear. Chuck worked hard to keep the joining process simple.

I have to disagree. The website exists because Jack (Mastifflawyer), Chuck (Snotrocket) spent long hours with me to put it all together for guys like you. If it meets your needs, then we have done our job and that makes us happy. But... I get your point.

Embarrassing yourself isn't a bad thing. I do it all the time and I will let my partners speak for themselves on that score.

Fear not. Banishment is rarer than a Case tractor with a Yellow Seat on this forum.

That's a good thing, we've seen all to many yellow seats here. :sidelaugh: :sidelaugh:
Welcome to the site, it has been a Godsend to me also, and I agree all involved in keeping the site up and running do an excellent job.

Thank you gentleman. I apologize for the misuse of vocabulary as well as misplaced-addressed acknowledgements. I will try to learn.
As for yellow seats, well I have turned mine from black to chocolate brown a few times. :sidelaugh:
I used the 448 last week to pull the Shasta trailer out of the trees. Easy does it with the travel control lever !!!!!!
This forum is absolutely wonderful. Your dedication and countless hours creating a well thought out and accessible source for information is truly appreciated.
Just one thing, and it is a small one. The icons for posting, were would I find a toothless smiling face. Not every one remembers to pop in the choppers - only to discover the shocked look of the person on the receiving end of a gummy grin.
Software programming is NOT one of my trades. De-programing computers is only a 12 gauge away.
Sometimes my humor does not translate well, sorry.

Off to reading I am. Can't help myself, the humor part, sorry.

Mike - this is the second "buffalo chips" reference I have seen this week: http://www.casecoltingersoll.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=2658&hilit=buffalo+chips
I don't want to seem a prude, but maybe you could focus better if you'd stop smoking that sh*t!.

Smoking buffalo chips without your teeth in can have tragic consequences:

I feel your pain. Don't apologize, we are HILARIOUS, if only in our own minds. If everybody else doesn't get it, that's their loss! :sidelaugh:

Oh, I almost forgot, WELCOME TO THE FORUM!!

Smoking buffalo chips ? What is a "buffalo chip" other than a splushed projectile in the waiting. Save me the time doing a Google search. :wtf:

Never have used recreational drugs - ever. I need to get out more often, though. :wife: Thanks for the education. So, cussing is encouraged? Hydriv is rolling his eyes.

Buffalo chips = shit. Wow, that was difficult to type.

That picture is great, thanks. Yeh, I got the idea from that thread. oleblu72 is a funny guy. We shared a few laughs elsewhere.

A mind is a terrible thing to waste. Mine doubles as a coffee filter and to hold up walls when attached to my body. :eh:
In the tool shed, the melon does double duty as an anvil. While driving, passing drivers get whiplash from the shock of seeing ... me.

That's enough for now. Thank you for the welcome.

Cussing is NOT encouraged.

However, it is the combined belief of the partners that this site should take a somewhat liberal attitude toward the "salty language" on the basis that everyone on this site is an adult, has heard and read such words before and can handle them. We also believe that some words do serve a purpose in ordinary conversations.

But that is not a carte blanche' invitation to deliberately pepper every post with those words nor is it a notice that ALL such words are acceptable. I think that most members understand what the limits of language are since we do have female members here as well.

Mike - I'm often on this forum late at night after a challenging day at work. It is how I unwind. Adult beverages may facilitate this unwinding. I have been known to get more than a little squirrely at these times, and sometimes what I post pushes the limits of propriety. The goal here is to befriend, not offend. If what I have posted is offensive to you or any other member, please say so. I will ask a moderator to remove it. I hope you enjoy your membership here. It is an incredible resource for education and advice, with a few nuts sprinkled in for "flavor".
