If the surfaces are flat and you follow the torque specs there is no problem using just the gaskets
K301 putting together
Well I got my k301 back from machine shop.
Question I got is, when i put engine back together with
New gaskets should I use any type of gasket sealant with the gaskets
Or just dry place the gaskets? I have always just used the
Gaskets without anything, but I though I would ask.

If you have not done so already, I suggest that you go to Kohler.com and print out the service manual for the K engines. We also have Kohler manuals in our Tech section.
