Hi All
I have a K321AS in my 224-79.
Is the nut on the shaft Left Hand Thread ?No it's not Or just REALLY tight ?Very tight, luckily I read an old thread on another site that a member recommended using an impact to remove this nut, it worked great, thanks to whoever it was.
I'm trying to take my starter apart to lubricate it.and replace the bushings, brushes and maybe armature.
I think I'll drop it off at the shop for an estimate
The old guy at the shop took a sniff of my starter and recommended a Re-Manufactured starter, $175.00 plus taxes = $191.41 Can = $ 199.14 US WOW this Location thing can be costly. I explained that I was working on a project and the 1 year warranty might be expired before I got to use it, He said that whenever I get my Tractor back together I could bring it to the shop and if it appears to be a Re-Stored Unit, Then he would re-issue my warranty card and double the length to 2 years, at this time he pulled the end plate off the stater and showed me the burnt armature, He then showed me the brush leads and how the lead wire was routed wrong and that is why the stater burnt out. I've read of this warning in the Kohler Files.
Oh Well Gas is $ 4.98 US a US gallon.
Thanks :trink:
