Wheel Tire Vehicle Motor vehicle Automotive tire

Jack suggested a post so here it is. I purchased the Kory mini running gear for $650 from Wengers in Myerstown.

It comes in an orange color that is close to Allis Chalmers orange and Case power red. It can hold 3000 lbs. Its a quality American made product. :usa2: The great thing about it is you can ramp it up in a pickup truck, short bed no less with the tailgate down (tied in real good). I could find no information on building the platform so I just copied what was done on the bigger ones and used common sense. Two 2" x10" runners rest on the gear. The platform was fabricated with 2" x 6" joists. I used 4 big galvanized bolts to attach the runners to the joists. I used 3" galvanized nails for the framing. Its down in Virginia so I am going off the top of my head. I used 1" x 6"cedar for the floor and walls attached to the stakes. I used tung oil on the cedar. Got a slow moving vehicle reflector from Hoobers in Intercourse, Pa.

Rich, is the reach pole adjustable to lengthen the wheelbase a bit? Just curious. I'd love to have one of those for taking all the kids for a hay ride when we do our corn roasts. Yours really came out nice.
Thank you all for the kind words. :usa: :usa: :usa:
John: Yes it does adjust, here is the data:

I built it for work and play. I have towed it around in NY with human cargo. Right now its in Virginia and sometines we take it to the deeded beach. I had an idea with firewood. Would be nice to fill it up and then put it in the garage during winter instead of stacking twice.
Couple other items: Stake hardward I got from Lowes. Stakes are douglas fir 2" x 4" s.
You can buy the running gear with a prefab metal platform.
They can be hooked together to form a train.
Note the runners are only tied on. This allows movement of the gear/platform over slightly unveven terrain. There are chinese ones out there but I was afraid of what the quality may be. They seemed to be about $400-500 with shipping new. I went to Wengers Myerstown in Pa. to purchase with my light pickup then had a little vacation with the wife in Lancaster, not too far away to the south.

Have you tried towing it with your Case? I would like to have one just to tow in parades.

I like the fact that it's kind of a bare bones deal in the beginning and you make it the way you want.
With a little welding and some fabrication someone could make it dump from a rear PTO.

Here's some video footage if I did it right. Notice my wife's sister loves it and is humming Deliverance dueling banjos and my wife is yelling its too damn slow! :sidelaugh: :sidelaugh: :sidelaugh: Case 224 pulls it no problem. Would be great for parades or at a tractor show. Lots of options. A dump body is an excellent idea. I was thinking about it but didn't have the time. Next one I may do that myself. :222: :446: Best Regards, Rich
