I guess that's a ******* plow in Maine! :sidelaugh: I don't think this gentleman realizes what he's got. He would be better off joining the group, keeping what he has (except cab right JSB!) and doing what you suggest. :222: :446: Best Regards, Richkkettelhut said:someone in Berwick (Gregg maybe) that posted some stuff for sale needs to sell this guy the deck and snowcaster and he will have all he wants with the same tractor he already has. He can sell the craftsman to get some of the money for the stuff from Berwick. I can see why he wants something with an efficient blower, he really only has a pusher now. If I had a dollar to my name, I would be buying some of the good stuff popping up in Maine of late.
I heard back from him earlier. He said I was the second person to ask about the cab! Essentially, I got the same reply. On to the next dream...Bill.H said:I wrote to him yesterday and heard right back, he's not interested in selling the cab by itself. He does have a LH deck that he won't sell separately either. He's in the next town over from me.
Initially I didn't make an offer, I just asked if he was willing to sell the cab separately. When he responded, he said he wanted to keep everything together so he could get the most out of the package. But, he did ask what I was willing to pay. I told him that $300-$400 was the going rate and that I was willing to pay that amount. I have not heard back.Snotrocket said:How much did you offer him for the cab? If you were to drive over there with $400 in your pocket and a 9/16ths wrench he might change his tune.
If you need some financial assistance with the purchase, I am here for you man! Those cabs are stuffy and hot, you wouldn't want that bulky thing on your new tractor anyway...MaineDad said:Guys,
New here, but it looks like I am buying this tractor so you will have another Mainer on the site :trink:
I know that it's not a snowcaster. It's an Ariens. He does have the original snowcaster that would be part of the deal too. I'll let you guys know how things go when I check it out. Is there are easy way to see if the carrier bolt on the transmission has been replaced?Hydriv said:I hope that you realize that the snow blower is NOT a Case snow caster. It is a two-stage that has been adapted to fit the tractor but the auger stage is no longer there.
I have no idea how well that unit will work under ALL TYPES of snow. Augers are put there to feed snow quickly to the fan or the paddles. If augers were not needed then manufacturers would gladly leave them out. In my opinion, his asking price is high for what's on offer but the final decision remains with you.
Take your time. Check it out carefully. There's always a reason why something is for sale. Just don't expect to be told the truth. Buyer Beware rules the day.
Thanks. I know all about the sickness. I have been restoring Wheel Horse tractors for years now. I've always wanted to restore an old Case GT.JSB Case said:If you need some financial assistance with the purchase, I am here for you man! Good luck with the purchase and welcome to the Case tractor sickness! :trink:
NO. There is not. Even if you opened the trans-axle up, you might not be able to tell.MaineDad said:Is there are easy way to see if the carrier bolt on the transmission has been replaced?
