[JSB Case]

I am looking at a 2 hour drive to look at a Massey 214 GTX built by Ingersoll. I would like to educate myself a little before seeing this thing in person, but I can't find crap on the net about these machines.

Does anyone have one or know much about the specifics? I am assuming that they are the 3014 equivalent? Is the engine supposed to be a 14 horse Kohler? Are these power steering models? Anything else that you guys can think of?

Any info is appreciated as always.

They have Kohler Magnum opposed twins in them. Several of them are PS models. I have a full set of manuals for them but right now I'm struggling with getting them onto the site. Shortly, that will happen.

Ingersoll made them for Massey in 1991 and 1992 I believe. Other than a few cosmetics, they are 100% Ingersoll underneath. If a 3014 would make you happy, then I don't see why the 214 wouldn't.

It is a Magnum, but a 14 or 16 would be a single. 18 and 20 are two cylinder

I saw it very shortly in the dark. The son is handling things for his mother who owns the tractor. He works a crazy schedule so I am waiting to find out when I can look at it in the daylight. I'll post some pics of it however the deal turns out.

I picked up a 216gtx last summer. My first Ingersoll made tractor and I really like it. I'm finding it hard to find Massey attachments for it. I point this out because from what I've read and been told, front end attachments that connect to the lifting mechanism require a lift arm with different bends than those of standard Ingersoll attachments. I finally found another 216 with snowcaster in PA but the owner didn't leave contact info in his CL listing - unbelievable.

If that machine has a snowcaster and you don't buy it or don't want the the attachment please let me know. I have family in NH and would have them close a deal for me.

I have an operator's manual and parts manual if you end qith the machine and want copies.
