Hi all! I recently aquired this Case 130 that I've been after for years. I did a full strip down and repaint while correcting the numerous "repairs" that had been done over the decades. The original K241 was swapped with a K301 at some point (fine by me honestly) and it somehow runs fantastic with a cheap chinese carb swap even after 20+ years with no air cleaner even being stored outside.
Pretty sharp Jason, I too have a few 130's and 2 CASE (Lambert built) 2 stage snow blowers for them.
About you mentioning the K301, assuming you did not tear it down and measure the bore it is very likely that is the correct engine. Back when these were built Kohler had a shortage of K241 blocks due to so many orders from a ton of different equipment builders. So it was quite common for the K301 block to be used but only bored to the K241 specs

The K301 is

My first 130 which dad bought new had a K301 block and one of the 2 I have has a K301 block with K241 bore originally

I only assumed it was a k301 because it still had the 12hp sticker on the engine cover so it is very possible that for some reason it had been swapped in the past. I never did think to measure the bore and I even had the head off for general cleaning and stuff. Btw you can send one of those snow thowers my way anytime!
The fan shrouds on these take a beating and often get destroyed due to the way the fuel tank mounts esp on high hour ones. (the one in the pic I posted had a crap load of hours but was otherwise original) So it is quite possible to have a 301 block that was bored only to 241 specs and have a 301 fan shroud replace the original 241.

As for the snow blower, uh nope! lol
