To a degree, we do things a little differently on this site. For instance, we have a rather extensive Tech Library that hosts more Parts, Operator and Service manuals than any other site on the internet. That Library is there for YOU to explore at your convenience. You will also find a FAQ's section that deals with the most common issues that concern these tractors. In that section is a chart that will help you determine the year of your tractor.

According to the chart, your 444 predates the period when serial numbers were recorded by Case. When that happens, you must consult the Parts Manual section for Kohler powered tractors.
444's made before 9641001 are 1969 PK (Performance King) models. If your tractor is original, then it should say Performance King on it. The original seats were painted Sunset with a large PK decal on the back.
Consult manual D-1135 in the Parts Manual section.
