OK, it didnt..... I lied. I do have a problem though. At full throttle the engine will hunt and miss. Not badly, but its noticeable. If i take it down 1/4" it sings. It hasnt done this till recently when its been pretty cold. The engine starts great. Does spin slow with the 30W in the hydraulics. And the starter does kick out. It does get started quickly though. It misses cold or hot.

I also have to re re adjust my valves, I can hear a tick tick. There was no clearance on them before. Now theres too much Im assuming by the audible valve indication system, AVIS. Also found out I can check the timing through under the breather hose? Sweet idea. I thought I would have to pull the shroud.... that wasnt going to happen LOL. I suppose it would be foolish to have it elsewise but when this is all a first time thing I wouldnt realize.

Hunting at high Idle is caused by incorect fuel air mixture back out high speed adjustment screw one round if that don't change hunting you have par plug main jet use seafoam additive in tank should clean fuel system smallest passage in 15 minute running. Its common for engine to need richer mix in cold weather. I agree on valve they are solid lifter and will tape.

I think the governor is coming out of adjustment. It does it for a real slight part of wot. Putting the choke on it will just kill it

Its a B48M stock engine.
The problem was the exhaust valve passenger side was set to .020 WHOOPS
thats what happens when your only source light, at 6pm is one of those free Harbor Freight lights lol

The two times that Ive taken the line off the fuel pump at the carb nothing has come out.
I did put it all back together today. I was letting it warm up and maybe ten seconds later it just cut out. I think I need a new fuel pump. I broke my last mityvac so Ill have to buy a nother to test it out.

And man when this fuel line gets old is it a pain! I had to take the fenders off and the gas tank to get this plastic turd line off. Trying to pull that line from the frame was a beast. Tygon line next time. And those stupid spring clamps..... can never have enough of those lol

be aware Tygon line only good for e10 fuel and thou thats what SUPPOSE to be coming out, many times its e12 or ??? Might ask at local NAPA or ??? if they have better choice. Bob M
I just picked 6' up at my local NAPA and got some sticker shock. Regular line is SAE 30R7 and $1.29/ft, the ethanol safe stuff is 30R9 -- but the only 30R9 they carry is fuel injector (high pressure) rated and it's $7.49/ft!

I got the cheap stuff. We'll see how long it lasts.

Thanks for the tip. They didnt have any left so I went with the plain rubber line. Now that Ive replaced it once I wont wonder so much how to put it on next time. The only real challenge was balancing that big cement weight box on the jack.
Also fixed the fuel problem. The fuel pump wasnt holding vacuum, making hard start overnight, so I installed a Mikuni pump Briggs part 808635. $33. Works great. No mods needed. Hopefully the $200 starter will last longer now
