my last phone call, a few minutes ago prompts me to
remind ALL, that any taper shaft is to be CLEAN and DRY(no lube)
when you install your flywheel.
this makes three customers in the last six months that have broken their flywheels,
because they used anti/sieze , oil ,or grease on the taper shaft.
i DO love to sell flywheels, though. (smile)
thank you. boomer

Good tips, Boomer. I am just about to re-install my flywheel. Does anyone know how many foot/lbs to torque the flywheel mounting screw to? I have a torque wrench, and I just don't know how much pressure to put on it.
Couldn't find anything in my service manual on this either.

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, Hydriv. I already have most of those manuals but I dl'd the ones I didn't have and re-read them. The information I needed was right near the front under "Assembly Torques". Duh.

35-40 FT./LBS.
