It occurs to me I could get a Johnny Bucket for either my existing tractor or find another inexpensive 4 series tractor-rather than pursue a 6 series loader.

They look like they'd do what we actually need for moving material around, likely for lessmoney than a 646 or so. Plus we have a local dealer.

Any experience with them in use?

One of my customers near here is very happy with his. Good for maybe 200 lbs ... can't really dig, but can scoop loose material. Only lifts several inches, of course, but transports goods around the property. Whole different usefulness than a loader ...

I have a Johnny Bucket. It works really well for what it is; a replacement for shoveling and a wheelbarrow. I use it mostly in the spring for various landscaping tasks and sporadically throughout the rest of the year for miscellaneous tasks. If you don't need a loader, it's a good compromise. The current design uses two electric linear actuators to do the lifting and dumping. That way, you can leave your mower deck mounted when use the bucket.
