Our two Colt tractors were made in 1965. The Case is a 1966.

The Deluxe was bought at the Foothills Antique Power Association Show in 2008. We belong to that club in Hickory, NC. The show is always held on the third weekend in May. The Deluxe was completely taken apart and sandblasted. Luckily all of the hydraulics were in good working order. The painting was done in the backyard.

After the Deluxe was completed we took it to a swap meet and met a guy who said that it looked a lot like one he had in one of his chicken coops. He only lived a little over two hours away and we went the same day and acquired our Rancher, chicken poop included! Luckily it rained on the way home and it made the pictures look much better. It was completely torn down and restored.

Our Case came from the same guy we bought our Deluxe from. We had originally gone over to pick up the mower deck and saw the Case. The steering box was broken but we were able to load it in truck and brought it home.

All three tractors were completely restored and painted either in the basement or backyard. We enjoy taking them to local shows and parades.

We hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoy the tractors.

Very nice tractors.

What brand of paint did you use for the two Colts? Did you use an enamel? Did you add a hardener? What paint code did you come up with for the Burgundy and the White?

Did you use Power Red or Flambeau Red on the Case?

Maybe I misunderstood.

I asked you about the Burgundy used on the Colts. Your reply mentions red paint twice.

How did you go about determining the paint colors for the Colt? Did you find a nice piece of untouched paint and then had it computer matched?

Colt describes the white they used as a "blue-white". Did you end up using Case Power White or the paint code you mentioned?

He had a regular, used car lot skit, where the number to call was, "BR549"! We only had two channels on TV to watch where I grew up and "HEE-HAW" was a weekly favorite. Funny, how you can remember things like that!

This is not a show I watched which is why I did not make the connection.

I grew up watching Hee Haw every Saturday night. What a great show. Funny thing about Junior is, he was discovered purely by accident. As the story goes, one of the producers stopped at Junior's roadside produce stand, thought he was a natural for the show and hired him on the spot. Junior was exactly as we saw him on TV, just being himself.

The Colt and Case Registry is a project that is in the hands of one of our members. He is known as oldcoltcaseguy. Because so little is known about the tractors that were made prior to 1972, this gentleman has put together a data sheet that is primarily governed by the model of the tractor along with the serial number, if known.

Additional key data shows what the original paint color was, any unusual differences in the build of the tractor, name/phone number of the current owner and so forth. There hundreds of tractors on that Registry and it's existence through the hard work of oldcoltcaseguy has led to a greater understanding of the Colt breed in particular, as well as the early Case models.

We have a PM or Personal Message system here at the site as well as a members list. If you wish to have your three tractors added to the Registry, then just say so in a reply below and I will explain how to make contact.
