Good evening, I was looking to restore my 222 and I was wondering what paint to use. I don't know if there is some sort of paint code that I haven't been able to locate or how people have been able to get pretty much perfect paint matches for their restoration? If anyone could let me in on the secret for the proper paint color... that would great! -Thank you for your time Wheel Tractor Tire Vehicle Plant

what kind of compressor do you use for your painting? I have a cheap kobalt 26 gallon that doesnt make much CFM. I understand that I wont be able to sandblast with it but would this work for painting?
Well, 26 gals is more then enough,, Mines a 20 gal,, and that's more then enough. Remember, when painting, it's not a continuous flow of paint,, lots of, trigger on, and off at the end of the stroke,, I'd hazard even a 10 gal would keep up,,

Awesome! Thanks for your help! Glad I’m able to do it myself without buying a $2,000 compressor and wiring like I would have to for sandblasting lol! Thanks again!

FYI,
To pay to get someone to sandblast my tractors, was like about $200 each. Cheap in the big picture considering the work it saved me.

I set myself up to sandblast but if you are not so equipped, it is well worth the expense. No better metal surface for primer and paint to adhere to than after you have thrown some sand at it IMO.

Careful with inhalation of the hardeners.I bought a 3M replaceable cartridge face mask years ago that works well.If you can smell the enamel reducer your mask is leaking.I suggest a throw-away in-line filter right before the gun to prevent contaminates (water, oil) and maybe will prevent fisheyes in your paint.Don't get any silicone sprays within a mile of your paint job.Very easy with little practice to get a nice paint job. Also Clean the gun before the hardener kicks!
