I'm sure this question has been covered before, so bear with me. What is the standard part number for the rear axle seals in the rear end of a 446 so I can buy them from the local bearing house? (I'm assuming the 200 and 400 series uses a standard size and a common size) Any help would be appreciated. TIA
I didn't save the number but last year I bought a set. Just measured the axle OD, housing bore and depth. Took the info to a local parts place that has a Chicago Rawhide catalog and looked 'em up.
gba
there is two different seals for sure that i know of.
the early style housing did not have a bulge at the end
of the housing. ( so, the o.d. of the seal is smaller )
so, the newer style one will use a larger o.d. seal.
good luck. boomer
Well, for those of you that keep track of such information, the seals for each end of the rear housing with the bulge at the end of the housing are SKF #11800. The seal for the brake is the same. (three total) The small seal for the shift rod is SKF#6015.
FYI.
