just curious if anyone has tried replacing the original kohler in a case 220 with a kohler out of a grain auger .... brother(farmer) has some time on his hands and a spare auger motor on hand ... looking at it bottom pan is different hence the mountings will be different but what else after that who knows

The engines spec'd for Case tractors use a special oil pan but that is often interchangeable with other engines. The output shaft is 1" diameter and less than 2" long with a 1/4" keyway cut into it. Other engines may have a larger and longer output shaft but those can be cut down in length and a different coupler half used. The other thing is that the rear of the block is machined to work with the pump support bracket.

You would have to find out the spec number of the auger motor and see what's unique about it.
