Never gonna happen love my blades less maintance toJust wait until you get a caster! WAAAY more efficient for moving more than 1" of snow.
The plow is a nice backup if the caster's belt breaks or you have issues with the clutch.I like using a plow, it’s fun. But in my area snow is wet and heavy. And the plow won’t do it. Get out of the garage about 10 feet and that’s it. Or if it’s normal snow, no problem plowing, but end up with banks of snow that just makes things worse for the next storm. Snow throwers for me, but allways have a plow to use, if I want. Thats just me.

Are you using chains? My house used to be a used car lot and my “driveway” is a 150ft x 150ft concrete parking lot. My 444 keeps the entire thing clear with a plow. Wet or light, 2 inches or 2 feet, doesn’t matter. My caster doesn’t leave the garage.I like using a plow, it’s fun. But in my area snow is wet and heavy. And the plow won’t do it. Yes sir, chains and weights. My drive is about 150’ long and widest part is 30’. If I didn’t have snowthrowers, I’d be in trouble. Are you using chains? I disagreeAll depends on the time you have. Unless you are clearing a narrow lane and plowing the snow off to the sides which is fast for a blade, clearing any wide open yard with only a straight blade [not a snow pusher] will take at least 4 times as long as a blower.
I have used plows on trucks, skid steers, tractors with loaders and back blades and snowblowers. Of all I prefer blowing as less of my driveway gets relocated and no huge piles to melt. That being said my biggest issue is heavy wet snow I plow as much with my caster as I blow. And this year it's setup as good as ever with paddles to close the gaps, painted with graphite paint, good clutch, belts, etc.... will see what Thursday brings supposed to be heavy and wet.I like using a plow, it’s fun. The Paddle mod is awesome isn't it! I did mine about 14 years ago using some recycled paddles from a 2 stroke "snow broom" ! Before the mod I was lucky to launch (more like dribble) snow about 3 to 5 feet. After the mod I was able to launch snow onto the roof of the 2 story turn of the century brick building next to my shop (about 28 feet high)I have used plows on trucks, skid steers, tractors with loaders and back blades and snowblowers. Paddle mod , now that's a plan. Put pads on my backup MTD walk behind and that throws a good 28 feet. Hadn't thought about putting them on the snowcaster, that's a TODO for next season. Had about 6.5 feet just before Christmas and another 4 feet a week later and my 224 delt with it all, throwing over banks 7 feet high. The MDT had to finish up with the second snow though and the P80 needed a new jack shaft and pulley. It's happy now and I made up a blade setup on the back which works well enough, all manual and could use 3 hands to work everything. It's an after market lighter blade, Will fab up a clip on setup for the front of the blower to scrape the slop out of the way next season. And that snow push needs power and momentum and some angle and all of that and more when it gets heavy. The Paddle mod is awesome isn't it!
