I am setting up the hydro lift on a Case 195 and a Case 442. See the pictures. I am wondering if I have the stop link set up correctly. Currently when I move the hydro cylinder to the down position, the stop link has to take the full force of the hydro cylinder. You can see the angle bracket that the link goes thru start to bend. Seems like alot of stress on that little piece of bent steel rod to stop the full force of the hydro cylinder going down. Is this the way it is suppose to work!! Note on the second picture I have not yet threaded the stop link thru the bracket.

Wouldn't the wing nut just need to be loosened off a bit?

Top picture has a middle pin attached, and the bottom picture doesn't have a spot for a middle pin. What's the middle pin on the top picture for? Take it out so whatever is hanging off the lift brackets floats?

When I did a 195 a few years back, for the life of me,, I couldn't figure out what that stop link is suppose to do,,

The design of the 195 lift mechanism and the 442 mechanism are slightly different. The 442 has no middle pin. The stop link actually slides between the 2 lift brackets on the pin that holds them together. Even if you removed the pins and let the attachment float-the stop link is attached to the same lift bracket that the hydro cylinder is attached to. The stop link would take the full down force from the hydro cylinder.

Here is a picture of the stop link installed on the 442PK. I think I have it installed right.
