Hi guys,

I have been working with my brother lately fixing up his 646 LBH that our grandfather purchased new in 1975. (My brother was the first born grandson, so the prick inherited the tractor.)

Since he wouldn't sell me the 646, I took matters into my own hands. I found a Vermont Craigslist ad for a 646 in Concord. I thought it was Concord, Vermont (2 hour drive), but it turned out to be in Concord, NH (30 minute drive).

I stopped there on my way home from work tonight, shelled out $800 cash (he was asking $1500) and I'm going to pick it up tomorrow. It needs some TLC and the solenoid is missing from the starter, but otherwise, its has tons of potential.

Here are some cell phone pics of my new project.

Thats in good shape. Must be pretty early with that cooling screen
The serial number puts it in 1975. My brother's is also a 1975, but his has a solid hood and completely different colors. (All Power Yellow)

I have never seen the vented hood before. I wondered if it was a homemade alteration.

My 448 might get a little jealous, but I think I'm going to start breaking this thing down right away. Should be a fun project and a great learning experience.

Got the tractor home this morning!

Other than the missing solenoid, one of the headlight lenses is missing as well. It has a glass Speaker 777, so I'm going to have to find a single one somewhere. I'll keep an eye on ebay, but if anyone has an extra they would sell, let me know.

Thanks.

JSB: Outstanding deal! :trink: IMO you done real well! I tried for a loader in the NE last spring with a $2000 budget and just couldn't pull it off. I have seen ones with blown motors end on E Bay for $1500. Love to see pics as you shape it up. :222: :446: Best Regards, Rich
