I was cutting some dead ash trees down. One was leaning over some evergreen arborvitae trees I have and didn't want to chance the dead ash tree falling on my arborvitaes. I could have got the ladder out and climbed up and put a cable on it. Then hooked it up to the 644 and pulled it down. It made more sense to lean the bucket on the tree and push it over after cutting the wedge out. It worked so well and fast that I am going to use this idea in the future. Possibly someone else can use this technique also.

Been there, done that, many times,,,albeit with a larger loader. However, one has to be sure that a dead top doesn't break off, 'cause you know what it WILL land on.

It was hard to tell from the pic, but there was plenty of room to get the chainsaw between the tree and the tractor. It worked like a champ and I'll do it again but only with trees the size I cut in the pic. Larger trees I'll use the cable to pull over.
