well you did it again Rich.......I am drooling :mowlawn:
So Tom I wonder how the price is. You essentially get everything you may need except a tiller. But I am not sure just how new it is. Are the hours correct? Not saying the seller is dishonest but I hear the hour meters are not always right on some of these. Does look to be in very nice condition. That would be a nice tractor for the Golden Cove fleet or the Mad Mackie who I understand is thinking about a new GT!!!! :usa: :usa: :usa:

Hi Rich,
Nice machine, but seperated out from the attachments it still is too many bucks. I'm looking for a 4000 series with a sick or dead Onan so I can repower it with a Vanguard.

Wow-that wouldn't be too good for a potential buyer to take a trip and not see what was advertised! Believe it or not I have been to that little Town which is near Fairport (350 miles from me) and there are quite a few Ingersolls around there.

Bob: I thought the price may be high. I'll keep my eye out for what you're looking for and send it your way if I see anything.

Not that I am an expert, but here is how I would break it down assuming it is all in great condition:
Snowcaster: $400-550
Cab: $400-500
Rear PTO: $200
3-Point: $800 - 1,000
Sleeve Hitch Adapter: $150

There is also a box on the right side of the tractor in some of the pictures (but not all). Maybe a dirverter valve. Also the oil filter is different colors, so the pictures were done at different times. there was defiantly a time laps between pictures.

So, I would say individually the attachments are worth around $2,000 to $2,200 leaving $1,800 for the tractor. I would say that isn't too bad for one that truly has low hours and PS, but of course that is assuming you don't get a deal on any of the accessories and they are all normal prices.

But like mentioned, some parts have been added/removed at some point. Kind of fishy... I had a 4020 once, I wish I still had it, I really liked it, but as I have been told by a wise man, we will find you another one with PS. :)

Hi Troops,
This unit appears to have the under seat PTO hose connections which would mean that the PTO lever would be near the transaxle speed change lever. It also looks like it has a flow control valve mounted on the right side of the hood.
Some of Justin's attachment estimated prices are high IMHO, and to me that leaves a $2,500-$2,800 machine by itself.
My 4018 has the left hand rear PTO # HP40.
And I certainly wouldn't repower this machine, I'm looking for a bargain in a machine that needs to be repowered. However low time machines can have more mysteries under the hood than high time machines.
So Bart, I prefer high mileage late model machines like me for example!!! HaHa!!!! :sidelaugh:   :mowlawn:

I'm looking at this thread and scratching my head.

First of all, this is a 1996 model. That makes it 15 model years old. At an average usage of 50 hours per year, it should have around 700 hours on it. However, averages are worked out from figures that are higher and lower than the average so it is conceivable that this tractor does have only 453 hours on it or 32 hours per year, based on 14 years of use.

The phrase "lots of attachments" doesn't really ring all that true. What do we really have here?

Cab - let's be generous at $500.00
HH-34 three point - again- generous at $600.00 if sold on e-Bay as an individual item.
Snow Caster - $550.00

That works out to $1650.00, IF sold individually.

If we subtract that amount from the $3950.00 asking price, we are left with $2300.00 for the tractor with deck and PTO. That isn't an outrageous amount for a low hour 4020PS, which is considered by many to be the very best model Ingersoll made in the hand-control style. However....this is a "package deal" and package deals cannot be valued solely on the individual prices of the options and attachments. I have no quarrel with the asking price but there should be some room for movement because I don't consider $3950.00 to be a "fire sale" price. I'd look at it more like a fair asking price if it was sitting at a dealer. If it could be had for $3500.00, I would consider it to be "well bought" but once again, I am just one opinion in the crowd. For sure, if it is what the Seller says it is, then it's a sweet package and the rest is simply negotiation until both parties agree.

Hi Tom and group,
I don't have the time to look at it right now as I'm getting both my trailers and van ready to go to York, PA for a model train show next week.
Seeing it and the attachments up close and personal is the only way to really know what the real deal is with this seller and his machine. The pics border on two different machines being shown, but just my opinion. He could have an old snow blower in poor condition with an adapter for RH discharge machine.
I would like to have a machine with PS but the machines from this era have a way to big of a turn radius for my liking although they can be modified to improve this problem.

I just called the gentleman and he said that the one on the trailer is the one for sale. Also that he had a looker coming today from NJ to pick it up.
I wonder if the fella from NJ knows that. IMHO its disingenuous to do what this guy did with his CL post.

Hi Rich and group,
Thank you for calling him and posting here.
If he has two machines you know that he is selling his better one of course!!!
More often than not it takes time and energy to sift thru the crap to get to the real deal if in fact it is even there when the sifting is done!!!!
Gotta run and get some stuff done!!!

Yes one must be very careful here, sometimes sellers borrow/steal pics of other peoples machines or substitute pics of another they may own and then you have to ask why.

This is a red flag to me and the buyer should beware, always ask for an explanation.
