Which model Massey Ferg. did Ingy build. I found a Massey Ferguson close by that the owner says was built by Case-Ingersoll. It is a diesel. I think the price is right, and it looks like a 4118D Ingy.

Forgive my quick mouth, and slow brain, for I have sinned. It is a freaking big Simplicity. Let the beatings begin. Next time I'll keep my mouth shut, and look real well before posting. I went with the $400.00 in my pocket. No brain in head.  Not obvious that I'm still a rookie on Case/Ingersoll.

Fatbob,
Don't beat yourself up. To err is human, those of us who are perfect....won't forgive you......but I will. :sidelaugh: :sidelaugh: :sidelaugh: :sidelaugh: :sidelaugh: :sidelaugh: :sidelaugh:

If that Simp is a good runner, maybe you should reconsider since it's only $400.00.

I have way toooooooooo many now. I'm going to stick to the 3 Case, and 2 Ingersoll I have now. But, I will pick up one, or more of them if they show up. I have to get another metal building built for room now!

During the 1970's Massey come out with the 1000 series tractors, which were made by Snapper. In the early 1990's, Ingersoll produced Massey garden tractors.
In 1993, AGCO Corporation purchased Varity Corporation, which owned the Massey-Ferguson tractor line. After that Simplicity began building the 2000 series Massey-Ferguson garden tractors at Port Washington. Therefore, currently produced Simplicity, Agco, and Massey-Ferguson garden tractors are identical except for paint and decals.

That would most likely have a Toyosha diesel engine in it.

Bob: Not to worry! Shoot, you are a fellow member to be proud of, you have the record for buying the most GTs in the shortest amount of time, seemed like one a week! That sounds like an attractive tractor to a simplicity collector, at $400 with diesel power!
I have a question for Gregg and the group. So Massey did not have any Ingersoll contracted loaders? I know you said no 6000 series.

I'm not aware of Massey EVER offering a tractor with a FEL. That is not to say that companies like Johnson, who made aftermarket loaders, did not make an adapter kit to mount one of their loaders onto a Massey.

Based on Massey's history, I'd conclude that they did not offer a 6000 dressed as a Massey.
