Gooday all
I have a line on a blade for my '81 448. The seller has the 'H-style" blade mounted on his 444. Given that this style of blade has the lift arm going over the front axle as I understand it, and does not use the plate adapter on the bell crank, will it fit on my 448 without modification? :headscratcher:
I am prepared to buy the blade this weekend. I just wanted to do a last 'check with the experts' first.

That blade was engineered at a time when only Kohler K's were used. When the Onan's appeared in 1972, the J-blade was developed to solve the interference problem.

However....I have heard from owners who have tweaked the arm a bit to overcome the problem. The decision is yours. If the price is too good to pass up and you have some skills in the shop, then I see no reason not to buy it. If the price is high, then you may want to wait for a J, K, L blade unless the need is urgent.
